Description
This is not just a cut of fabric, it’s a piece of culture that was hand picked in a Malawian open-air market. Africans use chitenjis to carry babies on their backs, goods on their heads, covers to keep warm or sheltered from the sun, and most commonly as skirts. Because they are so bright and beautiful, they also use them to advertise things they are selling. You can use them to decorate your home or to sew an eye-catching bag. Be creative! We would love to see how you use yours. Each piece is unique, a rectangle approximately one by two meters. Some are waxed, which will easily wash off, and some have stickers that are best removed with a warm hairdryer. We have left each piece as we found it so you can experience its authenticity. Your donation will provide 18 meals to hungry children. As always, we offer free shipping within the contiguous United States . Thank you for your support!
*This is a limited item. When our supply runs out, you will have to wait for our next visit to Malawi so make sure to order today*
